Why can't I just leave? What did I do wrong? Is it me? What's wrong with them? What do I do now? How do I heal? - These questions will be answered in this group.
Domestic abuse can have a significant impact on a person's mental and emotional wellbeing, and it can take time to recover and heal from the trauma. However, it is possible to grow and move forward from the experience; Our main focus is post traumatic growth and healing.
During the course of the 8 weeks we will discuss: warning signs, self worth and compassion, the trauma bond, types of abuse, identifying and creating boundaries, and more. We will also be engaging in activities that promote healing, coping skills, and self reflection.
The DAGT group will meet on Sundays from 12–1 p.m. PST via Zoom.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on the relationship between a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT aims to identify and change negative patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to psychological distress, by helping individuals to develop more adaptive and positive coping strategies. CBT has been found to be effective in treating a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, BPD, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more.
During the course of the 5 weeks we will discuss the core elements of CBT. This includes: CBT theory, cognitive distortions, identifying and replacing unhelpful thought patterns, and coping skills. Worksheets will also be provided weekly for personal use.
The CBT group will meet on Sundays from 2-3p.m. PST via Zoom.
